Beyond the Box - landscape photography re-viewed. The Summer Isles is a dream for those interested in taking photographs.  There is a wealth of subjects and the ever-changing light is magical. It is very easy to pick up your digital camera or your mobile phone and snap away, but this course will inspire you to think beyond the box and open your eyes to new possibilities.  You will finish the week with your mind bursting with ideas and a portfolio of fabulous images. If you google Landscape Photography Scotland you will be presented with pages of images from dozens of photographers who all seem to have been to the same handful of locations and taken the same pictures from the same places.  The aim of this course will be to explore ways of looking beyond pre-conceived responses to landscape and to encourage you to find your own individual vision. You will be prompted to examine your objectives and to ask yourself why you are interested in portraying the landscape and what it is in particular that attracts you.  You will discover how to enhance your abilities, to realize your vision and to present the results effectively.  You will be inspired to get the most out of your camera, creatively and technically, without being enslaved by technology and to present the results as effectively as possible. We are delighted that Michael has agreed to lead this holiday. He is also very excited about it.  Teaching will mainly be out in the field, where there will be the opportunity for both group and individual instruction.  This will be backed up by tutorials in the warmth of the cottage with a computer and projector screen.  There will be the opportunity to discuss on going progress and print out photographs as you go.  Michael will also introduce you to the work of a variety of exciting photographers who are working with landscape. During the week, Bill will take you out on "Patricia" where you will have the opportunity to view the islands from a completely different perspective.  This is one of the highlights of The Summer Isles week! As usual, there will be free time to explore the island or just relax by the fire before gathering together in the evening for a delicious home cooked dinner in one of the cottages. This holiday includes: 6 days tuition (approx 5 hours per day) 7 nights full board (including wine) Ferry from Achiltibuie to Tanera Mor Afternoon boat trip around the islands NB All paper and printing inks are included but you are expected to bring your own camera.
